dude! ...wtf!? You're cooling down your hotside for no reason by using the fins on both sides. You should have a solid plate on the hot side. Having fins on both sides just makes it more difficult to get the temp. differential. My suggestion is a thick aluminum plate on the hot side & see if you can source some cheep copper CPU coolers with heat pipes, since they are some of the best passive coolers. I understand that you're concerned about overheating them. So maybe have some recessed screws on the hot side, so you can create a small gap when you're worried about over-heating them. You could adjust that gap as needed. You could also use a fan on the cool side that kicks on only when the thing gets too hot. That way you're only pulling electricity for the fan if it's needed instead of constantly. I've always wanted to do one of these where the back of the stove is against a wall so that it can be set up with the cold side actually being outside.

We've got also an one Achsle Tractor at home with an EL 308 on it. The Carb on it is a Carbourator from an MZ Motorcycle. Its an BVF Vergaser 24n1-1 which can be easily crontrolled with a normal Throttle.

Fun fact: E03 002 was a prototype of the well known Br 103 class Only 4 of EO3 were build to in 1965 E03-001 E03-002 E03-003 E03-004 They can also goes by as E103-001 Currently you can get them as model mainly roco models However E03-003 is only made by Lima and mærklin I think

How does the motor change direction? I hear the click of a relay from the control PCB of my Miele when it is on the wash cycle, at that point the drum rotation changes direction. Do they swap over the AC power connections to the field coils to reverse the motor?

That tool box was probably some ones hard earned pride and joy at one time. I'm a retired aircraft mechanic with quite a collection of tools myself, mainly structural repair and sheet metal fabrication tools. I love this. 🙂

I love your ingenuity. I had a couple of thoughts for the robot, (although it sounds like you're making something better anyway). First you could drive the motor the same way you drove the steering, use the stepper as a servo to actuate a mechanical speed control, then you could have reverse. Next is the charging setup, if you could mount the inductor like a shield on the front or rear, then you would just have to line up with the target device and drive into it mounted on the wall, maybe have a strong magnet to finalize position and ensure that it doesn't roll back. I'm sorry you're dealing with so much petty crime. It sure brings down the quality of life when you've always got that in the back of your mind.

In the 80s it was worst tools you could get. Even Yugoslav tools was better at that time. China made even worse but at that time it wasn't avaliable here. Greetings from Slovenia.

Hi there TPAI, I am also building a cnc and ran into issues with GRBL. Do you have any firmware reccomendations for the CNC brain hardware? I don't want to use MACH3 and Linux CNC seems too complicated. currently running a CNC on Marlin, which is usually used for 3d printers.

What you need is a Sterling engine, it used to be possible to buy a gas boiler that combined with a Stirling engine would generate 1kW of power from the hot flue gas 😊 Or just build a steam engine, be careful though, steam can and will go boom😂

I assume you are in Germany, and as such, the average winter temperatures are around 4.1°C. What if you modified your stovepipe design to incorporate a "through wall" heat sink to the outside environment for the cold side of the peltier while extending the hot side of the peltier's heat sink into the gas stream of the stovepipe, this should provide a greater temperature differential increasing the thermoelectric generators efficiency. I understand this may not be practical as you would have to cut hole in the wall, however you would be using the "free" cooling of the naturally chilly German winters for your benefit. The trick would be where to place the hot side in the gas stream so as to not get too hot and damage the TEC.
